Summary: Frank Morrison, a divorced boat builder, is concerned about his 11-year-old son, Danny, whose become a compulsive liar since his father split up with his mother, Susan. Susan makes the announcement that she will be getting married to Rick Barnes, a popular and rich new citizen of the town. Danny begins to relate some disturbing stories to Frank about his new dad; while at first Frank thinks Danny is making up lies, his instinct begins to tell him that his son isn't lying, and that Rick may not be at all what he appears.

Synopsis: Super star John Travolta stars in this controversial film, which made headlines when co-star Steve Buscemi was stabbed and badly hurt during a brawl between him, other members of the cast and some North Carolina locals while hanging out in a bar after hours. But then Danny starts telling Frank some disturbing stories about his new dad; while at first Frank thinks Danny is making up lies, his instinct begins to tell him that his son isn't lying, and that Rick may not be at all what he appears.
